Panasonic brings high-end ShadowSense™ interactive display technology to ISE 2018
Panasonic has showcased its interactive ShadowSense™ display range, designed for high-end digital signage applications, at ISE 2018.
Multi-touch versions of the AF1 and LF80 displays in 42, 49 and 55-inch sizes have been integrated across the Panasonic booth at the show in Amsterdam.
ShadowSense™ uses multiple sensors hidden in the display’s bezel to accurately track objects as they enter, hover or move out of a sensor’s range of view. It makes for a touch screen that is fast to respond and continues to work well in bright environments.
“ShadowSense multi-touch technology is a combination of infrared invisible light emitters and optical sensors surrounding the display,” explains Enrique Robledo, Marketing Manager at Panasonic. “The ‘shadow’ of an object in the infrared rays is picked up by multiple optical sensors, then computed to a position, providing perfect image clarity.”
With improved reliability beyond similar non-combined optical or IR systems, the display’s provide an unparalleled degree of immunity to high brightness and changing light conditions, even when working in direct sunlight and studio environments.
ShadowSense™ is Panasonic’s premium interactive technology range. It sits alongside entry level collaboration technology, such as the infrared LFE8-IR, BQE1 and BFE1 range and the BF1 infrared whiteboard range.
