One size doesn’t fit all

Why should you flex around your tech? With Panasonic’s Custom Design Solutions (CDS), you can shape your rugged device into something that’s fit for your purpose – not someone else’s.

At Toughbook, our CDS team design bespoke solutions to perfectly complement your Toughbook and Toughpad devices.  We can even provide a sketched concept within 24 hours and produce rapid prototype samples in-house.

We recently collaborated with the leading automotive OEM to produce a mobile testing device, based around the Toughpad FZ-M1 7” Windows tablet, which encompassed all the industrial features they required in one compact, portable unit.

As Rob Blowers, General Manager - Engineering and Project Management explains

The CDS team has extensive mechanical, electronic and software design and development capabilities. We apply this expertise to creating custom-made accessories, products and product enhancements that drive productivity, efficiencies and give maximum return on investment.

Our experts will work with you to fully understand project objectives and future requirements, then develop tailored solutions to revolutionise the way you use your Toughbook and Toughpad.

Panasonic take the lead in Europe's
rugged mobile market

For over two decades, Panasonic’s rugged and semi-rugged devices have been pushing the possibilities of performance and accessibility in the most challenging of environments.

Last year saw Toughbook and Toughpad devices pull ahead of the competition.

Our commitment to innovation and performance has been noted by independent market analysis experts VDC Research, who have named Panasonic as Europe’s leading rugged mobile computing manufacturer 2016.

Our new 2-in-1 detachable devices answered European business demands for flexibility, durability and connectivity – while our rugged handheld devices dominated the market with year-on-year growth of 176%.

But this success doesn’t mean we’re resting on our laurels.

We’re looking to the future with plans to update and refresh our most successful notebook models, and expand our portfolio of rugged handheld devices. Watch this space.

Mobile lightweight, business heavyweight

Introducing Toughbook CF-XZ6, our lightest 2-in-1 detachable business rugged device yet.

With its sleek-yet-rugged design, impressive 14-hour battery life and powerful 7th generation Intel Core i5 vPro processor, our newest edition is built to withstand life on the road with ease.

Its lightweight 2-in-1 detachable form factor means workers can adapt it to suit their purpose. Use it as a laptop when a keyboard is needed, then take advantage of its tablet form for when maximum portability is key.

Tough is in Toughbook’s DNA. Because the CF-XZ6 is built to last, it’s more than capable of handling the knocks and scrapes of everyday business use.

Allow Jon Tucker to show you.

Tough is as tough does.

With a powerful Windows 10 Pro operating system, and a 12” fully rugged screen and a 2-in-1 detachable form, the CF-33 is built for tough life out in the field.

But don’t just take out word for it.

Watch Jon Tucker – Senior Manager Product Marketing, Panasonic – put the CF-33 through its paces as he takes it with him on a tough mini adventure. Think sawdust, scrambling, squash and …saunas?!

Toughbook CF-D1 takes its place on the firefighting frontline

At the scene of an emergency, device reliability is paramount.

Which is why Cambridge Fire and Rescue Service have deployed the Toughbook CF-D1 tablets and the smaller 10 inch FZ Toughpad tablets to access vital emergent information on-site.

In the past, a member of the fire crew would have to remain in the cab of the fire engine at the scene of an emergency. Now, firefighters can demount the Toughpad and carry crucial information with them right there, to the scene.

With a screen that can be read in bright sunlight and a rugged form that’s built to be used in wet conditions, Panasonic’s Toughbook and Toughpad devices are up to the job.

Will Holmes, Emergency Services Corporate Sales Manager for Panasonic Toughbook, says:

“It’s the portability of the devices, their optimised connectivity, clear daylight readable displays, rugged design and Panasonic’s ability to design total solutions around the device that are proving to be the winning factors.”

Panasonic and Cubic Defence are changing the face of defence training

A tough job needs a tough bit of kit.

In a world first, Panasonic Business has teamed up with Cubic Defence UK to change the face of defence training for the British Army by merging virtual reality with live training exercises.

The British Army combined virtual air force jets, drones (UAV), missile and artillery systems in a combat exercise alongside soldiers and vehicles using Cubic Defence’s Synthetic Wrap technology and Panasonic Toughbook notebooks.

Thanks to a powerful next-generation processor, two sim card slots and a fully rugged form, the CF-54 and CF-20 notebooks are perfect for running Cubic Defence’s sophisticated Synthetic Wrap solution, as well as withstanding the knocks and drops of army field exercises.

Martyn Armstrong – Senior Programme Manager at Cubic Defence UK – says:

"For the British Army this system is as close to battlefield reality as technology can provide today.”
